On Saturdays I list several blog posts from the week that I thought were really good. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
It’s been pretty quiet here at The Family Finances for the past week or so. With all the Christmas gatherings with family and preparing for year-end close at work, it’s been quite busy. I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas spent with people you care about. Holidays always seem to throw me off schedule, though. Where I work, we had a half-day on Christmas Eve (Monday), I was off on Christmas (Tuesday), and I was also off the day after Christmas (Wednesday). So, the days I was off made it seem like the weekend. Then when I went back to work on Thursday it felt like it should have been Monday. Next week will be somewhat similar, as we have New Year’s (Tuesday) off. It’s a good thing I have a calendar at my desk at work to keep me straight, lol.
Do any of you have exciting plans for New Year’s? We’re planning on staying home that night and having a nice meal. I’ll be putting on my heavy winter coat and grilling steak and shrimp out on the grill, and my wife will be making baked potatoes and stuffed mushrooms. Yum!
