On Saturdays I list several blog posts from the week that I thought were really good. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
It’s been a nice few days. On Thanksgiving we went to my parents’ house for dinner with the immediate family, followed by pie with the extended family later in the afternoon. It’s always nice to get together with the extended family, which doesn’t happen all that frequently. It’s nice to catch up, see how everyone is doing, and find out what’s new in people’s lives.
Yesterday of course was Black Friday, when the masses come out to score deals on their Christmas (or other) shopping. I perused the store flyers (both in print and online), and we just didn’t have much to get. I did end up going out on Friday, but not for any of the early bird deals. The things I had on my list were available at the sale price all day Friday, so I didn’t get to the store until the afternoon. Works for me. I’ve said before that I enjoy the whole Black Friday experience and have no problem with getting up super early to take advantage of deals for things I have on my list. But, if I don’t have much on my list, I’m perfectly fine with sleeping in as well.
