Friends of the Family: Another Day At The Zoo Edition

On Saturdays I list several blog posts from the week that I thought were really good. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

This evening our local zoo had a special “Members Picnic” for those that purchased an annual zoo pass. I think the zoo normally closes at 5:00 pm, and this event was from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. It included pizza, and they had free train rides and a bounce house for kids. We had a good time. The animals were unusually lively this evening.

I loved the billion dollar post! I think animals would be up more when it is cooler out. Was it significantly cooler this evening?

It was quite a bit cooler. It was a very comfortable evening; a great contrast to the 100 degree days we had been having.

Thanks for the mention Justin. A special members only night at the zoo sounds pretty cool. It would be nice just being able to walk around without all the big crowds.

Ha, that’s what we thought it would be like. Turns out that a TON of people have zoo passes, and almost all of them seemed to be there. It was pretty busy, but still really fun.

Sounds like a good time at the zoo! I love when they have those kind of events. Sorta related to the zoo, we took the kids to a Tigers baseball game and they had a kids day for them as well where they got to go on the field and have fun. Good times!
